Cuil.com – the new search engine

Cuil.com opens up, and I should say that I was impressed. I like the way the search results are displayed, in multiple columns as opposed to Live, Google, and Yahoo searches putting them in a single column. Cuil’s method would reduce the time you spend in scrolling down pages, and improve user experience. But, it has its downside too; limited text in the search result. But, as far as I’m concerned, I liked the way of multiple columns, the link is more important, and it reduces your search time.

But, the site experience problems at this minute, probably due to a large number of users.

I heard it was started by some ex-google employees. This is one more search engine which we need to wait and watch if this beats the leading horses.

Hope this will remain un-acquired by other top horses at least for sometime to get out the real potential with the developers. There are a lot of good and bad involved when a start-up acquired by giants. Good – they get more money, investment, infrastructure improvements, PR, advertisement, brand, etc. Bad – losing the individuality in taking/making decisions, and hard fact that it is not your baby anymore.
