Hand-Crank Cellphone Charger

Gizmodo reports here about a Hand-Crank Charger which was originally reported by Scifi.

This is really a useful one, but I am not sure about the talk time on the mobile you get after cranking for a given time. But, this is really an awesome product which will act as a savior for someone who stuck in a place where he/she has no electricity, no people, but only his/her cellphone and this Hand-crank Cellphone Charger (sounds like a new horror movie story, ha? LOL). Products like this will be really useful in a powerless future.

Windows Easy Transfer

Are you planning to buy a brand new Vista PC, but you are confused how to move all your personal stuffs like user accounts, files and folders, email messages and settings, address book entries, and Windows settings from your old computer to the new one?

Do not worry! Microsoft gives you the Windows Easy Transfer software which will make your life easier! As reported by Windows Vista Team blog here,

"This wizard is built into Windows Vista and will automatically transfer your personal data from a Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista based-PC to a Windows Vista-based PC. It gathers up the data from your old PC and then applies it on your new PC in the right places. It will move user accounts, files and folders, email messages and settings, address book entries, and Windows settings. It does not move programs.

Windows Easy Transfer supports a number of ways to connect the two PCs to actually move the data:

      • Easy Transfer Cable (more info below)
      • Home or small business network
      • Removable or external hard drive
      • Writable CD or DVD"

"Easy Transfer Companion is based on technology we acquired from Apptimum, Inc. last year — makers of the popular Alohabob PC Relocator software. For reference, here is the original press release on this acquisition."

Cool isn’t it? What are you waiting for? Get Vista!

My Yercaud Trip

Last weekend, I went to Yercaud, near Salem, Tamilnadu, India. It was a 4.5 hours of journey from my native place. It was a good place, not so good as Ooty or Kodai, the famous hill stations of South India. It was a good place. Got a local guide (an auto driver) who took us around all important places of Yercaud. Here are some pics 🙂

I also saw the rare Kuringi plant which will blossom once in 12 years! Below is the picture of that plant, but no flowers in it.
