Windows Vista – Perception Vs Reality

Do you really want to know about Windows Vista’s Perception Vs Reality image? Visit Mojave Experiment now. It’s awesome experience to watch some people working on Vista for the first time impressed, and someone even asking “then why did I hear bad things about Vista?”.

So, See Vista yourself, and decide. That’s my take. I use Vista as my primary desktop OS, and I love every moment using this.

Disclaimer: I work for Microsoft, but these are my personal views about Vista; not an advertising campaign from Microsoft.

Cuil.com – the new search engine

Cuil.com opens up, and I should say that I was impressed. I like the way the search results are displayed, in multiple columns as opposed to Live, Google, and Yahoo searches putting them in a single column. Cuil’s method would reduce the time you spend in scrolling down pages, and improve user experience. But, it has its downside too; limited text in the search result. But, as far as I’m concerned, I liked the way of multiple columns, the link is more important, and it reduces your search time.

But, the site experience problems at this minute, probably due to a large number of users.

I heard it was started by some ex-google employees. This is one more search engine which we need to wait and watch if this beats the leading horses.

Hope this will remain un-acquired by other top horses at least for sometime to get out the real potential with the developers. There are a lot of good and bad involved when a start-up acquired by giants. Good – they get more money, investment, infrastructure improvements, PR, advertisement, brand, etc. Bad – losing the individuality in taking/making decisions, and hard fact that it is not your baby anymore.

Sakkarakatti – Yet another magic from AR Rahman

I was hearing to Sakkarakkatti’s songs the whole day today – my sunday filled with ARR magic moments. Whattaa an album!! All the songs were too good, and my favourite singer Chinmayi had sung two numbers which were amazing. I was totally mesmerized by her voice in “I miss you da..” song. It was totally a different songs than her previous numbers. Something really special. Dude – you rock!

Looking forward to see how they shoot these songs. Because, there are a lot of good songs, but bad video 🙂 And, few good songs, with awesome video – like “Newyork Nagaram” from Jillendru oru Kadhal again from A.R.Rahman.

I’m looking for these song lyrics. Anyone?

DashWire – I love you!

DashWire is a pretty cool application I’m using in my HTC Touch (powered by WM6). It calmly syncs up all my photos, videos, calls, text messages, and also gives me Twitter kinda status updater which I can sync up to Twitter too. That’s why if you are following me in Twitter, you would’ve seen me using this DashWire more often. Here is my shared page where I share my pics, statuses, and my videos.

This cool WM6 application just uploads my data from phone through my GPRS, and yeah I do have an unlimited data option from Airtel. I do not say the speed sucks, but manageable.

To download for your windows mobile, go to www.dashwire.com from PC or go to http://m.dashwire.com from your mobile. It rocks!

Awesome Tamil Poetry

clip_image002

There are a quite a few times when I hate people sending me forwards (via a discussion group I’m part of), but this one is certainly not one which I got today.

This is an awesome poetry, and touched all my senses. This just tells about a life of a software professional who works in a different city for his bread and butter (just like me) leaving all his family in his native place.

The last few lines tells… “Who eats his food in his native place with all his family and relatives is the one who has seen the Heaven!”"

Hats off to the soul wrote this, and thanks for the one who forwarded this.
